Our Story

Because good dogs deserve good ingredients.

Sour Hound started with a simple idea: if I wouldn't eat the ingredients myself, why would I feed them to my dogs?

It all began when I started baking birthday cakes for my pups and realized how hard it was to find dog treats made with truly wholesome ingredients. Most options on the market were filled with preservatives or ingredients I didn't recognize. I wanted something better — simple, nourishing treats made with ingredients you'd feel good about.

So I started baking.

Every Sour Hound cake, biscuit, and pupcake is made from scratch in my kitchen, using real ingredients like pumpkin, peanut butter, carrots, and sourdough. No shortcuts, no mystery ingredients — just simple, homemade goodness.

One of the things that makes Sour Hound special is our use of sourdough. Sourdough has been around for thousands of years and is naturally rich in beneficial prebiotics, which can help support healthy digestion. It's a traditional baking method that brings both flavor and gut-friendly benefits — and we love incorporating it into treats for our pups.

The Most Important Test

Of course, every recipe must pass the most important test: my own dogs.

Winnie, Baylor, and Knox are the official Sour Hound quality control team. If they don't love it, it doesn't make the menu. It's as simple as that.

Sour Hound is all about celebrating dogs the way they deserve — with fresh, thoughtfully made treats baked in small batches and made with love.

Because good dogs deserve good ingredients.
